Elementary / Intermediate Levels
Target Students:
English learners at elementary and intermediate
levels.
Elementary/L1
Targets learners with no English foundation.
Introduction to basic English sentence structure,
vocabulary and language abilities.
Elementary/L2
Targets learners with a basic understanding of
English, enhance their grammar, vocabulary and
skills in English application. Enable learners to
reach a level which is higher than introductory
level.
Intermediate/L1
Targets learners with a slightly higher level than
introductory students, enhance their grammar,
vocabulary and skills in English application. Enable
learners to reach a level which is higher than level
1.
Intermediate/L2
Targets learners with a medium level of English,
enhance their fluency, and accuracy in social
applications. Enable learners to reach a level which
is higher than level 2.
Advanced Level
Target Students
1. Advance level English learners and Full Time
International students seeking admission in
Singapore and International higher-level educational
institutions.
2. Candidates who intend to work or pursue
post-school study in a country where English is used
as means of communications.
Syllabus
This course develops both fluency and accuracy in
English through a topic-based syllabus. The topics
are of high interest to students and provide many
opportunities for personalization and discussions,
promoting the development of both linguistic and
communication skills. Through the use of a wide
variety of stimulating and challenging activities,
students would be able to consolidate and develop
their communicative competence in English. The
course enables the learners to equip themselves with
the advance English skills.

building activities, such as
1.1. Graphical representation of real world
information by means of snapshots.
1.2. Functional and conversational expressions
1.3. Grammar focus through controlled and freer
communicative practice activities.
1.4. Pair, group and class fluency exercises.
1.5. Stress rhythm, intonation, reductions and
bleedings.
1.6. Listening for gist, details and inferring
meanings from context.
1.7. Word maps and collocation exercises.
1.8. Practical writing tasks and development of
compositional skills
1.9. Reading for details, skimming, scanning, and
making references
1.10. Pair work, group work or whole class
activities.
